Canadian Beaufort Sea Drilling 1981-1982

Twin Otter, Tuk Air Strip, 1982.

This gravel air strip was used for all aircraft operated by Dome Petroleum. There were sufficient electronics to land and takeoff a large Boeing jet in virtually any weather. The Dome plane in the background is a Dehavilland Twin Otter. A Canadian made plane designed for short landing and takeoff, especially useful in the arctic.
