This gallery features portraits of people living in the communities of Aklavik, Inuvik and Tuktoyaktuk, near the Beaufort Sea in Canada's arctic. I photographed them at the courtesy of Dome Petroleum Limited in 1981 and 1982. At that time Dome and its subsidiary Canadian Marine Drilling was very active in exploration drilling in the waters of the Beaufort Sea.
