
N.R. Buck Crump, C.C., M.E., D.Eng., D.Sc., LL.D., D.C.L.
Buck Crump was literally born into the Canadian Pacific Railroad at Revelstoke, B.C. on July 30, 1904. His father was former Superintendent of the Kettle Valley Division, Canadian Pacific.
His formal career with the Canadian Pacific began on June 24, 1920 and ended on December 31, 1974. During this 54 year period he started as an apprentice machinist, graduated with an advanced degree in mechanical engineering and eventually reached the level of Chairman and Chief Executive Of Officer of the company.
Subsequent to his very distinguished career with one of Canada's major companies, Buck Crump retired to Calgary where he and his wife, Stella, can be close to children and grandchildren.
In Calgary Mr. Crump maintains an active participating interest in community affairs. Mr. Crump has received many honours and awards including the Companion of the Order of Canada.
