Gloria Saarinen, B.Mus. (Hon), L.R.S.M.
Gloria Saarinen, a pianist from New Zealand, teamed up with her husband Carl from Calgary to raise a family and build a life of music that has enhanced Calgary's musical assets and that has been recognized on international concert platforms. She has performed in solo, duet and group roles.
She was an important member of "One Third Ninth" who were Artists-in-Residence for the Province of Alberta and who played tours in many cities of the world.
Currently, Gloria may be heard performing as a solo artist in concert, as an accompanist for other performers and as a recording studio soloist.
Aside from what she gives as a performer, Gloria Saarinen works very
hard to teach and guide gifted students. She also uses her considerable
energy to organize and promote serious programs by other musicians available
to the city of Calgary.
