HARRY PALMER GALLERY

I remember fondly the many times as a young boy that I visited the Château Frontenac where my father Willie was Executive Assistant Manager and my uncle Joe was Assistant Manager.

I remember being particularly impressed by their warm hospitality, their nattily-dressed appearance, their very proper and couteous manners and, above all, their dedicated professionalism.

My father worked for 54 years at the Château Frontenac before retiring at the age of 67 whereas my uncle worked for 46 years before he retired. Together they accounted for an awesome 100 years of service at the same hotel.

Although on more than one occasion I let my far-fetched dreams take wings, never did I think that one day they would come true. Indeed, three months before my father passed away in 1985 I became General Manager of the Château Frontenac and I am now the one in charge of overseeeing and coordinating all the major renovations to this unique hotel to be terminated in 1993, just in time for the exciting Centennial Celebrations of 1993.
