Cindy and John Gattey, Empress, Alberta, 1988
Cindy and John were products of ranch families near Consort, Alberta. They ran a "satellite" ranch near Empress for five years before returning to the Crossbar Ranch north of Consort at Gooseberry Lake. When I spoke to Cindy in June 1997 she told me that their two sons are now nine and eleven years old and are continuing the family tradition of riding and rodeo.
