War Memorials, Winnipeg, Manitoba, 1990
The memorial in the foreground is dedicated to the airmen of the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan. At first glance the airman represented seems to be saluting, however, because it is his left arm up I assume that he was just trying to shade his eyes. The memorial in the background is the original memorial to WWI Canadian soldiers. Nearby, but out of sight, is a memorial to Canadian WWII servicewomen.
