This gallery features scenes that I photographed in Normandy in June 1989, during the pilgrimage of Canadian veterans commemorating the 45th anniversary of D-Day and the subsequent Battle of Normandy. The Canadian soldiers and officers landed on the morning of June 6, 1944 at "Juno Beach" at or near Courseulles-sur-Mer, in Normandy, France. Other Canadians in the Royal Canadian Navy and the Royal Canadian Air Force also participated in the landings and subsequent battle. The scenes include the children and adults of Normandy that welcomed the Canadian visitors.
