Sgt Daniel R. Hartigan, 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion

Sgt Hartigan was a paratrooper who jumped as a member of the advance party along with the British Pathfinders some seven hours in advance of the seaborne forces, and some 45 minutes ahead of the main drop. His unit, 'C' Company, was "well to the left of the main bridgehead."
