Tpr Raymond P. Norris, CD, The Sherbrooke Fusiliers

Mr. Norris was a gunner with an 'A' Squadron tank which landed about 10 a.m. on D-Day, went through Bény-sur-Mer, was "de-waterproofed" and went into action outside the village about 3 p.m.. Because of limited visibility using the periscope, most tank commanders operated with the top hatch open. Mr. Norris' crew commander did, and was killed by rifle fire.
