The Dieppe Raid on August 19, 1942 lasted only nine hours, but cost nearly 1000 lives. Denis Whitaker was a senior officer of the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry that landed on the main Dieppe beach. He has published a book on his perspective of the Dieppe Raid and he is seen here in the back yard of his home on the shore of Lake Ontario.
