Lichfield Crater Cemetery, 1989

Nearby Vimy Ridge Memorial Park is Lichfield Crater Cemetery where 52 Canadians died on Sept 9th, 1917 and are buried here. There are no individual headstones as they were killed in a bomb explosion with no identifiable remains. Their names are inscribed on a plaque which can be seen in the background. One of the names is Lance-Sergeant E.W. Sifton who posthumously won the Victoria Cross.
