William Frederick Lever, Calgary, AB, 1988

Born in 1885, he established his own brokerage business in Medicine Hat in 1913. In WWI he served with the 10th Battalion. He was at St. Julien in 1915 and served in 18 battles before the war ended. He was with the occupation of Germany near Cologne in 1919. After the war he returned to Alberta to work as a Field Supervisor for the Soldiers Settlement Board in the Peace River district. He established his own brokerage business in 1928 and retired in 1930. His portrait was taken in the Colonel Belcher Hospital where he had resided in later years.
