Daniel A.J. MacNeil, Lanark, NS, 1988

Born in 1897, Mr MacNeil served with the 42nd Montreal Highlanders. He went "over the top" at the Battle of Vimy Ridge, where he was wounded, in April, 1917. In peacetime he farmed on his father's farm and clerked in a Halifax drugstore. He retired to the family farm in Lanark, where I took his portrait.
